Manuscript Requirements

Before submitting your manuscript, please read and follow the requirements below to ensure a smooth review and publication process. Adhering to these standards will improve clarity, consistency, and editorial handling.

Requirement

Impact Journal Standard

File format

Manuscripts must be submitted in Microsoft Word (.doc/.docx) format. A PDF version may be included as an additional file, but PDF-only submissions are not accepted.

Article length / word count

Recommended length is 6,000–8,000 words, including abstract, main text, references, tables, figures (captions), and appendices. As guidance, each table or figure is equivalent to approximately 250–300 words.

Article title

The title should be concise, clear, and informative, reflecting the main contribution and context of the study. Avoid unnecessary abbreviations.

Author details

All contributing authors must be listed in the submission metadata in the correct publication order. Provide: (1) email address (institutional preferred), (2) full name as it should appear in publication, and (3) institutional affiliation at the time the research was conducted.

Authorship and contributions

Only individuals who made substantial intellectual contributions should be listed as authors. Contributors who provided support but do not meet authorship criteria should be acknowledged in the Acknowledgements section. Guest or honorary authorship is not permitted.

Research funding

Authors should disclose any external funding sources in the Acknowledgements section. If relevant, briefly state the funder’s role in supporting the research. If there was no external funding, please state this clearly.

Structured abstract (required)

Provide a structured abstract (maximum 250 words) that briefly covers: Purpose (problem and objective); Design/methodology/approach (data/materials, method, sample/context, key procedures); Findings (key results/insights); Originality/value (what is new and why it matters). Optional (if relevant): Research limitations/implications, Practical implications, Social implications.

Keywords

Provide 3–8 short keywords reflecting the main concepts, context, and method. Avoid overly generic terms. The editorial team may refine keywords to improve consistency and discoverability.

Article type

Select the most appropriate article type: Regular Paper; Case Study; Executive Summary (if relevant).

Article category

Select the most appropriate category: Research paper; Viewpoint; Technical paper; Conceptual paper; Case study; Literature review; General review.

Headings

Use a clear hierarchical structure. Main headings should be bold. Subheadings should be clearly distinguished and consistently formatted. Avoid excessive subdivision.

Notes/Endnotes

Use notes sparingly and only when essential. Number them consecutively and place them at the end of the manuscript.

Figures

Figures must be clear, high-resolution, and numbered consecutively (Figure 1, Figure 2, etc.). Each figure must include a clear caption and be referenced in the text.

Tables

Tables should be clearly formatted, numbered consecutively (Table 1, Table 2, etc.), and include concise titles. All tables must be referenced in the text.

Supplementary material

Additional materials (e.g., appendices, datasets, extended tables) may be submitted as supplementary files when relevant. These should be clearly labelled and referenced in the manuscript.

Supplementary files (definition)

Supplementary files are optional materials that support the article but are not essential for understanding the main text (e.g., extended tables, additional analyses, instruments, appendices, datasets, codebooks, scripts).

Submission timing

Supplementary files must be submitted together with the manuscript. Late submissions may be declined unless requested by the editor.

File naming

Use clear, descriptive names (examples): Supplementary_Appendix_A, Supplementary_Table_S1, Supplementary_Figure_S1, Dataset, Codebook, Analysis_Script.

In-text callouts

The main manuscript must refer to each supplementary file at the relevant point (e.g., “see Supplementary Table S1”). Do not upload files that are never cited.

Anonymity & ethics

Single-blind review applies; anonymisation is not required. Ensure ethics/compliance: protect personal or sensitive data, obtain permissions, and do not disclose identifiable/non-public information without consent.

Publication handling

Supplementary files are published as provided (minimal editing). Authors must ensure files are final, readable, and publication-ready.

Recommended formats

Documents: .pdf, .doc, .docx • Data: .xls, .xlsx, .csv • Slides: .ppt, .pptx • Images: .png, .jpg/.jpeg • Code/Text: .txt, .r, .py, .do, .ipynb • Compress as .zip if necessary.

External repository (optional)

Authors may deposit supplementary materials in a trusted repository (e.g., institutional repository, OSF/Zenodo/Figshare) and include a persistent DOI/URL in the manuscript. Ensure access is stable and materials are read-only where appropriate.
